Roll Call For Tuesday February 10th, 2015

KillTheCan Roll CallRoll call is the most important thing we do at KillTheCan.org and is the reason for our continued success. Roll call at KTC is simple.  It is your daily promise that you will not use nicotine in any form for that day. This includes all forms of smokeless tobacco, SNUS, cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarettes and nicotine replacement therapy. We don’t worry about the “forever”.  We quit for today.  We’ll worry about tomorrow when we get there.  Please use this blog post to post your daily promise.

To post roll, simply leave a comment below with your forum screen name, days quit and your quit group.

  8. day 15 – hey ken, to reply to yesterday’s question i am doing pretty good. thanks for checking. get weird craves at times, and normal anxiety (and anger) is different than it was before. been keeping some fake stuff around. it’s pretty good, even so much i think how disgusting of a habit this was!
i am curious if i will have more energy for working out now that it’s out of my system…i haven’t had a chance in the last two weeks and normally i work out a couple times a week.
oh funny story the first friday i quit i accidentally drank about double what i normally do on a friday nite cause i didn’t have the dips to space out the brews! So i have to watch that now.don’t want to trade one for the other!

    • I’ve been trying to get into a gym schedule. Anything to mix up the routine which leads to triggers. And I hear you regarding drinking. Normally they recommend not drinking early in your quit. It tends to make people cave.

It will get easier as time passes. Just keep fighting, you’re doing great.

      • yeah, also i think the physical exercise can help the stress that use to lean on the chew. on the other hand, being really busy with work and some other stuff (which some would say are counter productive to quitting) has giving me something else to think about. i thought about cutting out the booze but then i wouldn’t do it long term so i need to remember how to drink w/o nic. i think i started both about the same time..only legal age for one. lol.

        • I used chew as my “release” of stress, but I was just lying to myself. It added to my stress. If I couldn’t use or if I was running out I’d stress. I’d stress that my family couldn’t go to bed fast enough so I could get that nightly dip in. I’m done with it.

As they say 1 problem + Nicotine = 2 problems.

          • exactly! i asked myself why am i chewing?.. the only answer was cause i get pissy if i don’t… i mean if i asked myself that 20 years ago at least i could say i got a buzz. i really can’t justify it now. that physical withdraw the first week really proves how potent nicotine is.
