I can’t vow to stay off the replacement. But I do want to quit the can. I picked up some Nicorette lozenges today and have been avoiding dip all together . I have been a pretty heavy/steady dipper for about 20 years. I picked up my first can while harvesting it in the fields of Kentucky. My justification was “i was supporting the family business”. Joined the Army and have served for nearly 20 years, and am on my way out the door. With my constant fears of getting cancer as my life on the outside finally begins I don’t want it to begin in a hospital bed. I have hid the habit for many years from my wife outright lying to keep up this useless habit that does nothing to benefit me and only causes pain. I welcome any and all support and I pray that this time doesn’t end up like the rest.
The time is now, I have faced war but can face down this damn craving and a stupid can. I don’t think so, its time to be better and time to take care of myself.
You all have my support and hopefully I have yours. Together we can make this change and see many years added to our lives.
