Quitting dip may be the most difficult thing you ever do in your life. And even though we are called Kill The “Can” we realize that our true enemy is the drug itself: NICOTINE. It is an incredibly addictive drug. Adding a support system like our online community to your quit can be the difference between success and failure. Our forums are the biggest and best quit dipping support system available today to allow you continue living nicotine free.
Roll call is your daily promise that you will not use nicotine in any form for that day. It is the cornerstone of our activities at KillTheCan.org and is the reason for our continued growth and success. KillTheCan.org is a 100% nicotine free site. This includes all forms of smokeless tobacco (long cut, fine cut, long leaf), SNUS, cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes and nicotine replacement therapy (NRT). We quit one day at a time and worry about the next day when we get there… together.
Will will never tell you quitting dip is easy. But it is 100% possible. We are living proof.
Please use this blog post to post your daily promise.

I miss it every day!! at work and at home, in my car and on walks… But my will is strong and I can say that I have been without Dip for 143 days!! A lot of gum chewing!! and seeds help, its the first 4-5 days that hurt… stay strong!
Day 129. Be strong, my friends. It does get easier.
keep the quit going guys! day 86. Dan, apple skoal? that gives me heartburn just reading it! haha. congrats on the fishing trip. the one thing i have noticed my nic friends my age don’t give me a hard time cause they know how hard it is to quit.
I’ve had a mixed reaction. Some treat you like you’ve lost your mind, some laugh & say it ain’t gonna last. A few wished me luck.
I support you and wish you luck. Your doing the best thing.
Thank you Sir, at times it seems easy, other times it’s rough. But I got this.
Went on my annual fishing trip last weekend, my biggest test to date. Armed myself with SM and I am proud to say I did NOT cave in, although it was hard, the beers were flowing, ALOT. Going on 2 months nicotine free.
Chewie, I have a few questions. I’ve spent about $75 on fake dip with SM being my favorite. Still would like to try Holt, but they make no sampler. Is it similar to Apple Skoal, which was my flavor of choice? I spoke to someone at Holt and they said it had some similarities. Also, I tried Truimph, but a little rough on the gums. Is Explicit similar? Hope this is OK to post here. Going on 2 months nicotine free.
Hi Dan – definitely OK to post here.
Here’s my review (and re-review) of HOLT.

As far as I know they’ve only got 1 flavor – peppermint. It’s a great wintergreen product but I wouldn’t say its anything closee to Apple Skoal. If you buy it and are hoping for an apple flavor you’re going to be let down.
Triumph and Elecit are essentilly the same product in a different can. If you didn’t like one you won’t like the other.
The only true APPLE flavored fake chew that I can recall trying was Root 100 Apple: https://blog.killthecan.org/2011/09/root100-product-review/ It wasn’t one of my favorites, but it may be the closest to Skoal Apple on the market.
If you’re looking for a suggestion, I’d say give the Teaza products a try. They don’t have a straight apple flavor, but they’ve got some more “fruity” variations that taste AWESOME.

Sorry for the long-winded answer… let me know if I can be of further assistance!
Not long winded at all, thank you. I wish some of these companies made it easier to sample their products. I appreciate the help.
