Roll Call For Thursday March 12th, 2015

KillTheCan Roll CallNicotine is an incredibly addictive drug. Even though we are called “KillTheCan” we realize that our true enemey is the drug itself: NICOTINE.  Quitting dip may be the most difficult thing you ever do in your life. Adding a support system such as the KillTheCan.org online forum to your quit can be the difference between success and failure. Our forums are the best (and biggest) quit dipping support system available today.

Roll call is the cornerstone of our activities at KillTheCan.org and is the reason for our continued growth and success. Roll call at KTC is simple.  It is your daily promise that you will not use nicotine in any form for that day. This includes all forms of smokeless tobacco, SNUS, cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes and nicotine replacement therapy. We quit for today.  We’ll worry about tomorrow when we get there.

Please use this blog post to post your daily promise.

To post roll, simply leave a comment below with your forum screen name, days quit and your quit group.

  1. Have you guys tried signing up for the forums? There are hundreds and hundreds of quitters who are active over there everyday. If you haven’t checked it out I highly recommend it. Get your quit on.

  2. Day 57. Tough day traveling. When I’m tired it seems the cravings come back for some reason. I thought they would be gone by now, but everyday is a new challenge but new reasons to celebrate as well.

  3. So does everyone agree that smokey mountain is ok to use? I really dont wanna, kinda thinkin it might make the urge worse! Any thoughts about it?

    • Use anything that keeps you away from nicotine. Some people have used SM right up to day 300. There is no shame in needing something. I used Grinds for a period.

    • Brent.. Smokey mountain has really helped me these past few days into my quit. I try only to use it when absolutely need too.

  4. Day 99…feeling great and I will not use today.

  5. day 45. way to go Rob!!

  6. GOT AN URGE EARLIER AND BEAT ITS ASS!! FEELS GOOD!!

  7. Day 95 – Getting easier each and everyday! So nice no worrying if I have a full can before I get home or did I pour that spittoon out that I was using downstairs watching a movie or will I get mouth cancer… Simply put, I feel a freedom that I hadn’t experienced since my youth, and now I wonder why I even wanted to put that shit in my mouth in the first place. Great job to all the new recruits, we are all here to support you and want to see your name next to “Day -2,231, Life is Good!”

  8. Congrats Rob! you are an inspiration. Day 5 for me, and the urge is really picking up.

    • Thank Matt, hey I started with this 4 days into my quit. I’m sure this site is my reason for my success so far. And will continue that way.

  9. Day 11 for me.. My brain keeps saying one more will be ok, but I will not let that Bitch win.

  10. 25 here. Great job all.

  11. Day 67, kick ass job Rob!!

  12. Day 17. Congrats Rob on 100. Hang in there Brent. Just take it moment by moment.

  13. Day 5 going good so far but today is my Friday! Really worried about the weekend!!

    • Brent – Mix up your routines and stay away from known triggers. Your quit is still young and I’d hate to see you lose the ground you gained this week.

    • Brent, keep challenging yourself mentally and tell yourself that you made it through the worst part (physical addiction) and that you don’t want to experience that again. The fog will lift day by day. As ken mentioned now is a great time to change your routine and take up a hobby/sport or activity that interests you. May want to check out some of the fake stuff to have as a crutch through weak moments. Just don’t go back to the can, look at the cancer pictures and remind yourself that is not going to be you.

    • I made it through the first couple of weeks with the fake shit. It is not the same but helps. Like Ken and Eric B mentioned…change up your routine…if you drink, try not to. Go do something that you haven’t done in a while.

    • Confession: I still have not gone into “my” old store. I used to pick up a coke and two tins every-other-day. I’ve just gained the nerve to get gas there, but I will not go in. There is nothing in there that I need or can’t get somewhere’s else.

In short; being quit is a daily activity for addicts. When you are further down the road in your quit you will be able to recognize the triggers/cravings quickly and stop the addict thoughts (“you can have one”, “you should celebrate your quit with a lipper”, etc.).

Stay strong Brent! You got this shit!

    • Brent, There Is no need to be worried. Post your promise each morning and then your quit, right? Take all hope and worry out of the equation. Post your promise then go about your day free from nicotine.

  14. Day 16 and staying strong.

  15. Great job, Rob!! After 40 years, I hope you have something great planned for today in reaching this milestone!

  16. Day 121: Congratulations Rob!! Thank you for helping me quit!

    • And Ken you made me realize that this is a day to day fight. For all our new friends, that’s it, it’s day by day or even minute by minute.

  17. Day 100. I made it. To.100 that is. This addicition will be with me for awhile. 40 yrs of rubbing,100 days without. For self family and friends. NIC FREE IN 15..
