  1. Day 29. Cravings are up and down but not as bad and I haven’t been using the fake stuff nearly as much. Congrats to everyone for making the decision. It was hard for me and I always gave the excuse “I’ll quit tomorrow”. Well, tomorrow never came until I decided I’m no longer gonna spend $3 a day on something that’s just killing me.

  2. Day 1 down today. Got bad around 230. Worked out and that helped a lot. Here we go.

  3. Day 7….this is the furthest I have ever made it cold turkey.

    • Awesome Job Pete!! We can do this! I am a 32yr user going cold turkey and now I am going through the rewiring process… one day at a time…. OOORAH!

  4. Eric B checking in Day 9. Mornings are still a tad blurry as my first impulse is to locate a can and take a pinch. Had first real test over the weekend at our dock Christmas party. I have always had a dip in around the boat/fishing/water so it was a bit of a mind screw not having one; I even left the hooch at home. I found that I can still drink and not get that uncontrollable urge to dip, so I think the nicotine dependency is gone, but I don’t like to push the limits so that I don’t do something I would regret. So we are the Dec 2014 group, but have we been given a group name? Good Job Everyone stay strong!!

  5. Thanks for the review link Chewie and the response Ken. I went ahead and ordered some to try. Also thanks Chewie for letting me know that having a crutch for a while is ok. This has not been easy as most all my friends dip and have been saying that I have not quit because I dip Hooch. I have put the quit contract in each of their possession to try and get a little reprieve. Hopefully they will come around soon before it is too late. They say they can quit whenever they want and that cracks me up because that is what I used to say. Don’t get me wrong I have not been a nag though.

  6. Day 18 – I’m going to kill my first deer today without a dip.

  7. Day 10 here. Made it to double digits. Cravings not too bad lately. I think about it a few times a day. I find something else to do.

  8. Day 7. One week!! Woo hoo!

  9. Day 28. Almost to a month!

  10. Bluebonnetman – day 1084 and still quit with the April 2012 Bumptards

  11. Day 14. Two weeks and still having strong urges at times. Just have to take this one day at a time.

    • Rob – one day at a time is all there is. The nicotine that the tobacco industry fills us up with is highly addicting and full of crazy chemicals. It’s no wonder that you’re having strong urges. Just let that crap continue to get out of your system – your body and your brain. It gets easier, I promise.

  12. Day 35: caught a real nice cold over the weekend. I remember still dipping even though I was sick. Didn’t matter how horrible I felt I still needed my dip. How f’d up is that?
