Roll Call For Monday January 2nd, 2017

KTC Hall of Fame KnifeHave you been trying to quit dipping? Are you quitting chewing tobacco, snus or some other form of smokeless tobacco? Congratulations! Your decision to take back your freedom from spit tobacco is one of the best you’ll ever make! KillTheCan.org helps people quit by providing support from people who understand what you’re going through – we’ve all been right where you are. Quitting isn’t easy and we won’t tell you otherwise. In fact, it may be the most difficult thing you ever do. Adding a support system to your quit will greatly increase your chances of success. The best quitting dip support group available today is on our forums. With over 28,000 registered members it is the best place on the web to get support and questions answered from people who’ve been there before.

Roll call is our DAILY promise that we will not use nicotine in any form for that day. This includes all forms of smokeless tobacco, dip, chew, SNUS, cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes and nicotine replacement therapy (NRT).

Use this blog post to post your daily promise. Leave a comment below with your forum screen name, your days quit and your quit group.

  1. DAY 1! DAMMIT, THIS IS ROUGH. I AM DETERMINED TO QUIT COP STARTED IN JR HIGH UP TILL I WAS 28 (15 YEARS), QUIT 1 YEAR AND STARTED AGAIN, GOING ON 20 YEARS PRETTY MUCH ONE CAN A DAY. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE LET ME KNOW. GOING WITH SEEDS NOW, BUT THAT’S GETTING OLD QUICK. THANK YOU.

    • Welcome Ronshu.

I used Grinds (reviews on this site) or wet coffee grounds for awhile. After a week or so the addiction turns into fighting the mental game of “man, I could just go for a dip today”. That is where I used to fail. One dip turned into a can a day bender that would last years. Fight through the pain it gets so much easier the farther away from day one you get.

  5. Jimco here, day 2 after 39 years of daily nicotine use. Im struggling here but determined. not sure how this site works.

    • Hey Jim- Welcome.

There are two spots you can post your daily promise to quit. Here (blog) or within the Forum. The Forum is organized but the month you’ll hit your 100 day quit ( you should fall into March or April I believe.). The Forum is easier to get numbers of quit supporters to hold each other accountable. It may seem odd today, but once you get past the first phase of the quit it is all mental and there is where a lot fail.

      I quit with you!

  6. Day 783: Last day of break. Back to work tomorrow.
