Roll Call For Tuesday June 23rd, 2015

KillTheCan Roll CallKillTheCan.org is an organization dedicated to helping people quit smokeless tobacco. We believe with every fiber of our being that NICOTINE is our enemy. Until you are free from the drug that you are addicted to, you can’t really start down the road to freedom. If you’re looking to quit dipping, we can help. We will never tell you it’s easy. Quitting dip may very well be the most difficult thing you’ll ever do. Adding a support system to your quit can be the difference between success and failure. The best support system available today for someone looking to quit chewing is the KillTheCan.org support forum.

One of the main reasons for our growth and success is Roll Call. It is the most important thing we do. Roll Call is your DAILY promise that you will not use nicotine in any form for that day. And for that day only. This includes all forms of smokeless tobacco, SNUS, cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarettes and nicotine replacement therapy. We don’t worry about the quitting “forever”.  We quit for today and worry about tomorrow when we get there together.

Use this blog post to post your daily promise. Leave a comment below with your forum screen name, days quit and your quit group.

  1. day 144. craves are a lot lighter, but like NC says, every day. easier to deal with them when you get that physical side behind you.

i dipped for over 20 years, i don’t think it stole anything from me, it was my choice. looking back it was a stupid choice. what drove me to quit was i stopped to see what benefit i was getting from it.. that wasn’t from the addiction. absolutely nothing. at least when i took that first kodiak i got a buzz. when i eat something good it tastes good, when i drink a beer it tastes good– and makes me smarter. lol. hang in there guys!

  2. Yup, it stole minimum of $15,000 from me over a 19 year span and maybe years of my life. I’m hoping that quitting can get some years back….it’s without a doubt worth a try. I’m only 9 days in but i can FINALLY say that i’m in control, and it feels fucking STELLAR! I’m actually more cheerful to be around…no high’s and lows, no sneaking a dip, no planning to have dips….NO BULLSHIT anymore.

  3. The power nicotine has is that the first few days are so tough there seems to be little hope, so you cave. “No way I can live my life like this, fuck it, one dip and the pain goes away”. I remember that defeatist attitude. I remember caving. I remember that rationalizing & 30 years of dipping adding nothing to my life, it only stole from me.

  4. Day 94, good luck to the newer quitters. The first 1-7 days are the worst. It is really all mental after that. Day 94 and I think about a dip at least once a day. The sooner you quit and get the monkey off your back the easier & better life becomes.

  5. I promise to quit.

  6. Day 204. Back to work after 11 days. Will do so tobacco free. I quit with all of you today. For self family and friends. NIC FREE IN 15.

  7. Day 224: welcome new quitters! It gets better, starting out sucks but the more miles you add the easier it gets.

  8. Crispy – Day 4 – September Samurai
