  1. Day 16. Watched American Sniper and saw them putting in lips. Maybe me get a big pang. MIght put in some of that hooch but haven’t tried it in a while. Glad for another day free of the cancer dirt!

  2. 9 days of no dippin. Miss it bad still! The haze has gone away- but missing playing with the plug- moving it to the left then the right side in my cheeks.

  3. Day 9 and had some serious craving today. Kept strong and didn’t cave. Gave up theSMHS yesterday. Congrats to everyone that has made it another day!

  4. Day 34 – staying positive and recommitting my resolve to quit nicotine once and for all. Does everyone else feel that coolness on their tongue and oxygen richness in each breathe? Incredible feeling after so many years, I think they call it having a clean mouth or something. Lol. Great job to all the newest quiters, it will get easier so dont cave and go back to killing yourself. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and well wishes, I will keep everyone posted. Anyone from the December group heard from Corey? hope he is still one day ahead of me.

    • He posted around New Year about his father in law quiting around the same time. He and his wife didn’t know it. His post looked strong so I hope he didn’t fall.

  5. Day 5 not going to well

    • You got this Al! Stay strong. You had to work your way into the addiction and now you got to work your way out.

    • Al, I know things are foggy, irritable, and down right sucky right now, but take it minute by minute, hr by hr and day by day my friend. The reward is huge and it will restore faith in yourself to accomplish anything. You can do this!!

  6. Day 7 – Starting to feel like I can actually do this. Had a buddy over for cards last night, and he put in a pinch of cope wintergreen. I grabbed his can, smelled it, missed it, tortured myself, and put in some seeds. Probably not the smartest thing I could have done, but I’m starting to embrace the challenge of it. Keep up the good work everyone!

  7. Day 37…The last few days were great. Today seems like a real struggle with the cravings. Nothing like a major crave but just something bubbling under the surface that won’t go away. Not to worry…I will not cave to the nicotine.

    • I know exactly what you mean Peter l have that feeling also. I will not cave to nicotine now and love the outlet this site provides.

  8. Day 5, still waking up at night. However I went all day without taking a Smokey Mountain dip. Really hard, but I finally feel I can quit for the first time.

  9. Day 9, still having trouble sleeping. Hope this part of recovery passes
    Soon. For Freedom

  10. Day 32. Doing well lately.

  11. Day 38. Like every other day I have urges in the morning but control easier every day. Pray for all my brothers out there going through adversity. For self family and friends 5. NIC FREE IN 15.

  12. Normally I post roll in Pre-HOF group March 2015, I lost my password and can’t log in to my account to post in the group forum. My username is UpstateNY and I am posting in this blog to ensure I still make my promise for today:
UpstateNY – Day 41. I promise to not use nicotine today.

  13. Day 59: I think my office is back to smelling like everyone else’s. I no longer need to be listening for someone coming my way so I can spit out the dip. Freedom has its perks. Stay strong and nic free everyone; we got this!

  14. Day 44 bad winter storm, thought about getting can of Smokey Mountain for ride in decided it was bad idea no moving backwards.

    • It is a tough call Erik. I was thinking about buying some Hooch wintergreen but haven’t. Right now I’m sticking to gum and what I have left of my Grinds. Stay strong, you’re doing great.

      • Your right Ken it is tough call. Just know for me its all or nothing and don’t want to start over with the cravings. It served its purpose for me and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to quit.
