As we announced in a previous post, the 7th National Smokeless and Spit Tobacco Summit is making it’s return this year after a year off. This year, it will be held on August 6th, 2013 on the campus of The University of Montana in Missoula, Montana.
I’m happy to officially announce that KillTheCan.org will once again be in attendance as a sponsor of this event! We had an outstanding time when we visited Austin in 2011 and we’re very much looking forward to this event in August.
For those not familiar, here’s a brief description from their website:
The 7th National Smokeless and Spit Tobacco Summit is the ONLY national conference dedicated to addressing the health and social issues attributed to smokeless and spit tobacco use.
The target audiences of the Summit are as follows:

The MAIN group left out of that list (in my humble opinion) is QUITTERS. Well, we’re going to be there holding the flag for those addicts just as we did last time around. WE will be the voice of YOU.
We’re hoping to send at least 2 of our “staff” to the event with all their expenses paid. Expenses include summit sponsorship, hotel, travel, booth materials, etc. We estimate this to be around $5,000 when all is said and done. And while we NEVER will ask for money to keep the site, forum or chat running, we’ve had requests from several members on how they can help.
Summit specific donations can be made in our online store here. Thank you in advance to all who have and will donate.
If you’re a member of our forums, you can follow along with our donations progress in this thread. If we raise more than the $5,000 we’ll send more quitters!
Speaking of thanks… I want to take this public opportunity to thank one of our members known as copehater. He made an ENORMOUS donation to the cause. A simple “thanks” doesn’t do it justice… but thank you sir.
I’ll update the blog here as more details become available about the Summit and the types of curriculum that will be made available. If you’d like more details about the Summit please visit: http://www.smokelesstobaccosummit.com/
